- Copyright and fair use are necessary when working. Often people make a living off the images, music, or videos they make so it is essential to know how to work with this. As a teacher, it's important to know the tags that are used. Most of the time finding these won't be that difficult thanks to many resources such as websites that help find copyright fair use items. Most the time there won't be a problem because they aren't being used in a commercial way, just educational. With the students, it is important to inform them about the different rules before starting any project where it is necessary. It is important for them to credit and quote any source they use. I do not have any other questions about this, because I learned in class.
- As long as I have been a student, academic dishonesty has been an issue. Before, it was about rightfully crediting and quoting ideas and sources, and copying others papers. Nowadays, it also includes using AI to generate papers and other issues with technology. I wouldn't want to discourage the usage of AI, so there has to be a way for students to use it for help. I would propose students that used AI make it known, but it shouldn't go over a certain percentage on the AI checkers. With copying, the only solution is to have consequences for these actions so they don't repeat, but I would like to sit down with the student that is caught copying and redo the assignment or test with them, to supervise and help.
- While working on my teacher newsletter, I learned a couple of new skills. Working with images and graphics on Word always proved to be a challenge. I learned how to successfully move them and embed them into the text. Another skill I learned was how to make columns. I used to just type and hope they separated when using the feature to change how the text lined up. Using the column feature was so simple and I couldn't believe I hadn't figured it out. I believe my newsletter was okay. The overall look was good, but I feel the design and colors could be improved. It looked a little too bland and sometimes I felt the formatting was a bit off. Overall, these new skills will only lead me to make better newsletters and in other course, they will make me more versed on Word, which makes me a more valuable asset in a group.
