The standard I selected was being able to use technology in order to problem solve. I do feel prepared in teaching this standard based on my current skill set. I have been using technology in this process since the sixth grade. It can be used to formulate a chart in order to understand better. It can be used as a tool for research on a problem which promotes interpretation of data. It can also be utilized to find similar experiences which can then yield results. I will continue learning in order to be fully versed in this area but I do believe I would be able to teach this and have students meet this standard in my class. I selected resources for second grade social studies. In this I found many lesson plans, videos, and important questions to ask. I can use these resources as a way to meet standards easily. These lessons are very through and I would adapt them into my teaching philosophy. It is always great to already have some kind of outline to use. The interactive pages I can ...

Copyright and fair use are necessary when working. Often people make a living off the images, music, or videos they make so it is essential to know how to work with this. As a teacher, it's important to know the tags that are used. Most of the time finding these won't be that difficult thanks to many resources such as websites that help find copyright fair use items. Most the time there won't be a problem because they aren't being used in a commercial way, just educational. With the students, it is important to inform them about the different rules before starting any project where it is necessary. It is important for them to credit and quote any source they use. I do not have any other questions about this, because I learned in class. As long as I have been a student, academic dishonesty has been an issue. Before, it was about rightfully crediting and quoting ideas and sources, and copying others papers. Nowadays, it also includes using AI to generate papers and other ...

In early education, I was introduced to Microsoft programs. I lived in Venezuela and had a technology class where we were taught the basics of PowerPoint and Word, so I felt comfortable using them. When I moved to the U.S in 5th grade, it wasn't a class we had. I felt more advanced than my classmates because I already had seen most of the stuff they didn't know how to do. Later on in my latter years of high school, paper started phasing out and we were taught how to use google apps. Having the prior knowledge from Word, it took me a bit to adjust. Most of the time, I prefer Google apps. They can be accessed from anywhere, save automatically to their cloud, and it's easier to share with collaborators. It also gives you easy options to save as different files.  The ISTE standard most important to me is being a learner. Having taught robotics and technology for a year at an elementary, it showed me that learning, whether it's about students and their many quirks, or adjust...

Blog Post #1     As a student attempting to become a teacher, this class is going to serve as a great tool. In this ever-changing world of technology, it's important to keep up with new websites and resources at our disposal. I hope to learn how to master these different resources. I have been introduced to most of them, but very surface based. I also hope to fully understand how to use my computer to its full potential. There are many useful shortcuts and websites that will help me. In the future, I hope to able to use these tools to further my reaching and even expose my students early so they can be comfortable with them at an early age.  Technology has always been present in my educational settings. In elementary school, I attended classes to learn how to type and be efficient with my computer. Later on, canvas and other websites were required in school, leaving me to learn for myself how to properly format, download, and use programs such as Word and PowerPoint...
